Had an appointment with the nutritionist this morning.
She’s very happy about the start we got off to and she liked how I was keeping my diary. I use www.livestrong.com and the LiveStrong iPad app. A lot of her patients use this but mostly on the iPhone.
There are some days where I am not eating enough and I need to be careful to make sure I get enough in plus I need to increase my protein. For someone who’s had gastric bypass getting in at least 60 grams of protein is very important because we don’t absorb other nutrients like we use to when we had full stomachs.
Today was easy to keep to that goal because we had left over meatloaf for supper.
I only lost 3lbs according to her scale but we started two weeks after I was released from the hospital so we think that’s when I lost that water weight one typically loses when he or she starts dieting. So I don’t know what my actual weight loss is but we’re tracking now.
Learned a lesson today: You can drink too much water. If you’re not careful you can get water intoxication. A co-worker brought up that contest they had a few years ago in California when the Wii first came out. They held a “Hold your Wee for a Wii” contest and the second place person drank almost two gallons of water in a short period of time and passed away as a result. While I’m not drinking all my water in a short period of time the nutritionist does want me to be careful.
That’s all for now!
